Basic setup includes the following:
Guitar Setup and Maintenance Checklist
Check electronics for proper function
Adjust neck relief and/or nut action as necessary
Clean fretboard thoroughly
Condition fretboard with appropriate oil or conditioner
Polish frets to remove oxidation and smooth playing surface
Lubricate nut to ensure smooth tuning and string movement
Inspect saddles for burrs; file and lubricate as needed
Perform a basic clean and polish of the instrument body
Restring the guitar with appropriate strings
Check and adjust pick height unless declined by the customer
Set intonation precisely to ensure accurate pitch across the fretboard
